Understanding Your Benefits

Insurance and Self-Pay
A great first step to understanding your benefit for mental health services is to contact your insurance company directly via the number on the back of your card or online. Then you can determine if pre-authorization is required, clarify your co-pay or deductible, understand any limits to coverage, and view a list of approved providers.
Most insurance companies require that you see someone contracted with them, an “in-network provider”, who is someone listed on their provider panel. Other insurance companies allow you to see someone in or out of network, which may differ in the amount of out of pocket expense to you. Your mental health coverage may also differ from your health insurance coverage.
I also accept self-pay for services if you are seeking services without insurance coverage. I am happy to review my fee for service with you.
