About Me
Heather N Foster, MA, LPC, RPT-S
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) who has been practicing in the field for 24 years. As Midwest girl, I adventured to the Pacific Northwest for graduate school and in 2001 earned my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and Behavioral Analysis from Pacific University School of Professional Psychology in Portland, Oregon. I have made Colorado my home since 2006 and spent over 18 years in a non-profit mental health center providing therapy to children and families of all ages and backgrounds. I developed a passion for working with the Early Childhood population and proudly earned my RPT-S credential in 2019. With over two decades dedicated to trainings in numerous evidenced based practices and certifications for treating children and families, I have had the privilege of being a part of hundreds of client’s unique pathways to success in achieving their goals.
In addition to providing counseling to children and families, I have provided supervision and coaching to other therapists involved in outpatient and school-based clinical programming to help sustain and expand various community programs. I feel strongly about the importance of prevention services and providing the internationally acclaimed Incredible Years Programs to thousands of Pre-school and Kindergarten aged children for 18 years has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Supporting the development of social-emotional skills in early childhood allows me to help make life-long impacts on children’s overall emotional wellness and academic success. Though I have a specialty with treating children 0-12, I am very experienced with treating youth of all ages who are struggling with a wide range of concerns and especially enjoy supporting parents in finding confidence and joy in their parenting journey.
