Children 0-10

In children, the most powerful learning and healing experiences are often through play! Play is the natural language of children. While adults find relief in talking over their difficulties with an understanding therapist, children often cannot express their thoughts and feelings in words and may represent how they feel through acting out behaviors. When children have the opportunity to show how they feel and what they’re experiencing through toys, they often feel better because their feelings have been released. You have probably felt something similar when you have been upset or anxious and confided in someone who cares about you. Play therapy is like that for children. I am trained in practices supported by research to help young children with a variety of symptoms. We will work together to support the processing of experiences and emotions to build coping strategies.
